The Asbury Park Saint Patrick’s Day Parade


March will be here before you know it. With it comes the beautiful spring weather along with the locals coming out from their finally snow-free houses. It also means one of our favorite events is taking place; the Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

When it Starts and Where You Can Watch

This year’s parade takes place on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. on 5th Ave. and Ocean Ave. For anyone who wants to watch the parade, you may find a spot along Ocean Ave. starting at 3rd Ave., on Cookman Ave. from Wesley Grove to Main St., the Press Plaza or on Main St. from Cookman Ave. to Bangs Ave.

Street Closures

Be on the lookout for street closures during the parade (about 1-4 p.m.) Here is a list of the streets that will be closed:

  • Lake Ave. from Main St. to Wesley Grove
  • Ocean Ave.
  • Cookman Ave.
  • Main St. from Lake Ave. to Summerfield

Other Information

Unfortunately, is no rain date for the Asbury Park Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. So let’s hope for a sunny spring day! Metered parking will also be in effect so make sure to plan accordingly.

Before the Parade

While we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of the parade, there are a few events happening this month that you can attend in support of the parade. Taka is hosting a Green Dragon Brunch on February 21 at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Grab a friend and $15 and enjoy some delicious food. There is also a Grand Marshal Dinner taking place at Jimmy’s Italian Restaurant on February 25 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person.
