eclectic tastes of the boardwalk

When you think of a Jersey Shore boardwalk, what comes to mind? Chances are, you immediately think of a sausage sandwich, an ice-cold lemonade, or even salt-water taffy. What makes Asbury Park’s boardwalk so unique is the variety of vendors and cuisine that you can find. If you are looking for a truly different culinary experience, here are some places we think you will find interesting.

Ceviche From Cubacan

Location: South end of the boardwalk, across the street from the Empress.

Cubacan is a boardwalk staple that offers fresh Cuban cuisine and satisfying cocktails. For seafood lovers, the Branzino a la Planxa (sea bass) is a big hit, while the Churrasco (skirt steak) is popular amongst landlubbers. Last year, Cubacan opened up a rum and tequila bar that serves ceviche. The best part about Cubacan? It’s open year round.

Korean Tacos from MOGO

Location: Stand just north of Cubacan

The popular summer outpost of the Cookman Ave. fast-casual restaurant offers a unique twist on tacos. MOGO infuses Korean BBQ flavors and foods like panko covered shrimp, Korean BBQ rib-eye, and fried rice all into a taco, burrito, bowl, or salad. Their kimchi-fried rice is a very popular add on.

Global Fusion at Langosta Lounge

As you might already know, there are many reasons why food trucks are spectacular. North Eats hosts six food trucks throughout the summer. These can range from Peruvian style food from RUNA Peruvian Cuisine, to Brazilian BBQ. The selection of food trucks varies day to day, so you’ll have to visit to find out what food trucks are available.
